Service Agreement

Last updated: June 10, 2026

This is a plain-English summary of the agreement between you (the Customer) and Campbell Grill Detail, sole proprietor Otis Campbell ("we", "us"). Booking a service or signing a written work order on-site confirms acceptance of these terms.

1. Scope of work

We provide grill cleaning, restoration, and related outdoor cooking equipment services at the address you provide. Specific tasks, deliverables, and price are confirmed in the quote you receive by email, text, or in person before work begins.

2. Quotes & pricing

Quotes are based on the information and photos you provide. If the on-site condition materially differs (heavier grease, broken parts, larger size), we will pause and re-quote before continuing. You may approve, decline, or reschedule at no cost.

Service rates: quoted package price + $50/hr labor. Any additional time will be communicated and approved before charges are added.

3. Payment

Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept cash, card, Zelle, and Venmo. Invoices unpaid after 14 days may accrue a $25 late fee and interest at the lower of 1.5% per month or the maximum allowed by Illinois law.

4. Scheduling & cancellation

You may cancel or reschedule at no cost up to 24 hours before the appointment. Same-day cancellations or no-shows may be charged a $50 trip fee to cover travel and reserved time.

5. Site access & utilities

You agree to provide safe access to the grill, a nearby water spigot when reasonably available, and a clear work area. If we cannot safely access the work site, we may reschedule and charge the trip fee in §4.

6. Customer responsibilities

  • Disconnect propane / shut off natural gas before service.
  • Disclose pre-existing damage, leaks, or modifications in advance.
  • Keep pets and children clear of the work area during service.
  • Confirm the grill is yours or that you have authority to authorize work on it.
  • Labor is billed at $50/hr on top of the service package. Any overrun requires your approval before work continues.

7. Limited workmanship guarantee

If you're not satisfied with the workmanship, notify us within 7 days and we'll return to address the issue at no additional charge. This guarantee covers our labor only. It does not cover normal wear, rust returning to corroded metal, parts we flagged as failing, or damage caused by use after service.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (lost food, lost events, etc.). Nothing in this section limits liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

9. Photos & marketing

We may photograph the grill before, during, and after service for our records and for marketing (website, social media). Photos will not show identifying information about your home or family. Tell us in writing if you'd like your photos excluded.

10. Governing law & disputes

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. The parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by phone or email. Unresolved disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.

11. Entire agreement

This document, together with the written quote / work order you accept, is the entire agreement between us and supersedes any prior conversations. If any section is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.
